چکیده

Abstract Background Sheath blight disease (ShB) is a destructive affecting rice production. Previously, we have reported that Loose Plant Architecture 1 (LPA1) promotes resistance to ShB. However, the mechanisms by which LPA1 confers against this not been extensively investigated. Notably, interactors regulate LPA-1 activity remain elusive. Findings In study, identified interaction of kinesin-like protein (KLP) with in nucleus cells yeast two-hybrid, bimolecular fluorescent complimentary (BiFC), and co-immunoprecipitation (co-IP) assays. To investigate role KLP promoting ShB, wild-type, klp mutant, overexpressor ( OX ) plants were inoculated Rhizoctonia solani AG1-IA. The results indicated that, compared wild-type control, mutants more susceptible while less Since transcriptionally activates PIN-FORMED 1a (PIN1a) , examined expression 8 related PIN genes. showed only PIN1a PIN3b coincided levels. addition, chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assay bound directly promoter region but . Transient assays confirmed activate coexpression had an additive effect on activation suggesting enhances transcriptional activity. Conclusions Taken together, our show novel interactor

Mapping and validation of QTLs for rice sheath blight resistance

Sheath blight, caused by Rhizoctonia solani, is one of the most serious diseases of rice. Among 33 rice accessions, mainly from National Institute of Agrobiological Sciences (NIAS) Core Collection, we found three landraces from the Himalayas-Jarjan, Nepal 555 and Nepal 8-with resistance to sheath blight in 3 years' field testing. Backcrossed inbred lines (BILs) derived from a cross between Jarj...

Identification of Rice Genes to Tag Quantitative Resistance to Sheath Blight in Rice

The goal of this project is to develop molecular tools to control rice sheath blight disease. Toward this end, a subtracted rice copy-DNA (cDNA) (only the expressed DNA) library was created to identify differentially expressed genes at the early interface between a tolerant rice cultivar ‘Jasmine 85’ and a highly virulent Rhizoctonia solani isolate. R. solani-induced message RNAs were selected ...

Screening Oryza Species Plants for Rice Sheath Blight Resistance

Sheath blight of rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a major rice disease throughout the world including the southern United States. This disease, which is caused by Rhizoctonia solani Kühn (teleomorph: Thanatephorus cucumeris (Frank) Donk), was first reported in 1910 and now occurs throughout temperate and tropical production areas, being most prominent where rice is grown under intense, high-fertility ...

Bioefficacy of Strobilurin Based Fungicides against Rice Sheath Blight Disease

As the usage of fungicides catapulted with the onward march of the dial hour, fungicidal resistance by the pathogens emerged as a new constraint. This amalgamated with the growing demand by the farmers for crop protection agents with low use rates, a benign environmental profile and a low toxicity to human and wild life, further gave an impetus to the search of new molecule of fungicides with n...
